Lilly’s Story is about a dog that was born in a puppy mill. She was taken away to be sold at a pet store, then loved for a short while by a family that wasn’t ready for a puppy. They abandoned her, and she got lost, then put in a shelter. Lilly was placed in a rescue, where she was spayed, then finally, finally she found her forever home.
Lilly’s Story was written by 10 year old Ally Del Monte. Ally and her family have participated in all type of pet rescue, including senior, special needs adoptions and hospice care. Circumstances have made it so that the family cannot foster now, although they do have adopted dogs. Ally wanted to do more. The 5th grader want to find a way to help the Rescues that make such a difference in the lives of animals. While she was thinking of ways to raise money for her fund, her Mom suggested that she write a book, and publish it. Ally decided it was a great idea, and wrote a synopsis, an outline, and worked on a page at a time, both authoring and illustration this picture book about a Puppy Mill pup’s life.
Ally hopes to sell it her book at dog shows, walk-a thons, such as the recent SPCA’s Wags And Whiskers Walk and on- line, on Amazon.com as well her web site.
