Lilly’s Story
By Ally Del Monte
Everyday, in puppy mills across the country, dogs with bad eyes, hip problems, and other genetic flaws are used to breed puppies that are sold as “pure bred.” Ten-year-old Ally wants to do something about that. She has written, illustrated and published a book called Lilly’s Story. It’s the story of a dog that is born in a puppy mill and her life thereafter, bad and good. Ally not only wants to raise awareness about puppy mills; she hopes to donate profits from the sale of her book to animal rescue operations, many of which are facing hardship due to a rise in pet releases and a loss in donations as a result of the tight economy.
Profits for the signing will be donated to the Greenwich Adopt-A-Dog shelter to help pay for the care of Big Rocky – read his story HERE
